Pete Morris, affectionately known as The Metro Da Vinci, presents Pete Morris: Artist in the OR, opening Jan. 9,  a series of watercolor paintings recently painted while in Guatemala on a surgical mission with Mending Kids, a non-profit organization deploying surgical teams worldwide to provide life-changing surgeries to children in the U.S. and in developing countries. This Mending Kids surgical mission included a surgical team from Duke University at the Shalom Foundation’s, Moore Pediatric Surgery Center in Guatemala City.

In this powerful exhibit, Morris takes us into the heart of what it means to be part of the human race; from the incredible grace and largess of the surgeons, the nurses, medical technicians, and volunteers who devote their time and gifts to small strangers on another continent, to the beautiful, deprived Guatemalan children who deserve every opportunity and chance to lead lives as healthy and productive as those who are more fortunate.
