REFUND POLICY: To withdraw from a class and receive a full refund, the request must be made at least 10 days prior to the beginning of the session. Classes with insufficient enrollment may be canceled or postponed. If Place cancels a class before the first meeting, a full refund will be issued automatically or, if preferred, credited toward another class at Place.

Little Hands - Nature's Elements
ages 4 - 5 Thursday, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Starts April 16

Spring is here! In this class, students will explore, draw, paint and make green crafts with various mediums and nature's elements, creating projects using petals, leaves, twigs and more, with introduction to artist Georgia O'keeffe.

Arts Camp Week #3, Aug. 3 - 7
Ages 5 and up Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

HOW TO BE AN EXPLORER OF THE WORLD using the natural world in our neighborhood, and cultures from around the globe, to inspire art activities such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, weaving, and architecture. We will make explorer kits, maps, journals, creatures, and learn about art-making from faraway lands. Learn new skills and have fun with an intimate camp experience.

Ceramics
Ages 6 & up Thursday, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., starts April 16

From Picasso to Andy Warhol, students will make hand-built ceramic creations, using artists for inspiration.   This  clay exploration class is suitable for students of all levels. Your child  will build upon the skills they have while continuing developing there own personal style. New students will learn the basics of slab rolling, coiling, pinching, and surface design, while the more advance students learn to take there skills to a higher level.  All pieces will fired and glazed in a kiln.

Animation Design
Ages 9 - 12 Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., starts April 15

Learn where animation starts, in the hands of an artist! In this class, students will create fun characters and develop a one minute story to animate. They will discover shape design, movement, and proportions to make their characters come to life. Then they will design and color backgrounds, setting the stage for bringing the story all together in a storyboard sequence that will be animated in a digital flipbook. All levels encouraged to participate.

Drawing Academy
Ages 9 - 12 Thursday, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., starts April 16

Place Drawing Academy is aimed at students who have a passion for drawing and want to further develop their skills and personal portfolios. In this class, students will engage with the world of 2D & 3D art through drawing and sculpture. Through traditional materials and techniques, they will explore 2D drawing foundation; they will then take their drawings off the page and turn them into 3D sculptures. The focus will be upon line, form, texture, shape, value and scale. Ordinary materials—pencil, charcoal, ink, paint, tape, cardboard, hot glue, and found objects—will be utilized to build dimensional creations.

Fables & Folk Tales
Ages 6 - 9 Tuesdays, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., Starts April 14

In this class, students will tap into the world of Fables and Folk Tales, bringing stories to life making masks, puppets, and more. Introducing inspiration from illustrator Lisbeth Zwerger.

Everyone Can Draw
Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., meets 6 weeks, starts April 18

Welcome to returning students and new arrivals. We will work from a live model, still lifes, and create on our own imaginative compositions. The emphasis is on feeling free to create with confidence and enjoyment in a supportive atmosphere, while learning new drawing skills. If you have any objects or photos which you would like to use as inspiration please bring them with you to the class.

The Path of Story: Writing Lab for Adults
Tuesday, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., meets 6 times, starts March 24

Looking to kickstart your writing? Find what you want to say, in prose, whether it’s fiction or non-fiction?  Through exercises and prompts, listening and sharing, you’ll write short pieces that can spur you to continue writing on your own. Either way, you’ll get an imagination-to-pen workout.
