Ceramics Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., starts Jan. 26

Coil, pinch, and slab your way to a variety of projects both functional and fun. This supportive and lively class is suited for artists of all levels and experience.  New students will learn a variety of hand building techniques while the more experienced artist will continue developing their individual style. All projects will be fired and glazed.

REFUND POLICY: To withdraw from a class and receive a full refund, the request must be made at least 10 days prior to the beginning of the session. Classes with insufficient enrollment may be canceled or postponed. If Place cancels a class before the first meeting, a full refund will be issued automatically or, if preferred, credited toward another class at Place.

Art Explorers
Ages 6-8 Friday, 2:15 - 3:45 p.m. Starts January 8 (new start date)

We will have fun and make art with a variety of materials such as paper, fabric, and air dry clay. Students will learn new artmaking processes and discover interesting artists from all over the world.

Portraits
Ages 9 - 12 Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., starts Feb. 10, new start date

Portraits may seem challenging, but portrait artist Paige Emery makes it fun and easy!  We will learn how to break down the fundamentals for all ages to understand.  Self-portraits, portraits of friends, character portraits and more will be created through all sorts of mediums such as drawing, painting, ink, and collage.  This class will be a one-of-a-kind experience to learn how to make portraits in your own unique way!

Creative Writing
Ages 9 - 12 Thursdays, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., starts January 28

Come learn what makes good stories tick, draw us in, and turn the page. We will use writing exercises and prompts to get our brain juices flowing, and learn how to create compelling characters, plots and settings. Students will create personal portfolios in addition to a group zine.

Adult

The Path of Story
Tuesday, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., meets 6 times, starts Jan. 26

Looking to kick start your writing? Find what you want to say, in prose, whether it’s fiction or non-fiction?  Through exercises and prompts, listening and sharing, you’ll write short pieces that can spur you to continue on your own. Either way, you’ll get an imagination-to-pen workout.

Time to Create
Thursday, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., meets 6 weeks, starts Jan. 28

In this class we'll explore a variety of artmaking projects - paper mache, collage, and whatever the group wants to do. It will be an adult art play date with plenty of inspiration and materials. Come play and get creative!
