Gay Lawrence

Gay was born in Mamaroneck, New York. She started her career as an artist at Hanna-Barbera in the animation industry. She art directed the TV series, HAPPILY EVER AFTER: FAIRY TALES FOR EVERY CHILD, for HBO, and production designed the Turner Pictures feature film THE PAGEMASTER, starring Macaulay Culkin, directed by Maurice Hunt and Joe Johnston. She also worked in the creative development of features such as EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE, HERCULES and MULAN for the Walt Disney Co. to name a few, and FAMILY DOG, with Tim Burton and Steven Spielberg, for Universal Studios. She worked as a background design supervisor at Cartoon Network Studios on “CLASS OF 3000” featuring the voice and music of Andre’ Benjamin (Outkast.) Gay been teaching animation art in the SPEF summer programs for over ten years now.

Make art collages and haikus to express diversity & neighborly love in our community. Inspired by the art installation, “Have You Seen Him?” No need to sign up, just show up near the “Walking Man” sculpture by the South Pasadena Metro Station, Meridian Ave. and Mission Street.
