Danielle B. Ashton

Danielle was born in Calgary, Alberta and now lives South Pasadena. She took an extensive amount of time with her studies, attending four schools and ultimately gaining her Associates in Interior Design and her B.A. in Studio Arts. She has shown her work in numerous galleries and museums in the US and Canada.  Danielle is currently on the curatorial commitee of SPACE and a former board member. She loves teaching children as well as adults.

Her philosophy is: “My interests lie within the fragile and vulnerable states of matter and society. Throughout history we have given deep reverence to the mighty and monumental and have disregarded the importance of vulnerability. I play with balance, relationships, humor and fear. I relish in the small, intimate details and embrace the impermanence of life and art. Does art not imitate life?”
