Andrea Lofthouse

Andrea Lofthouse-Quesada is an illustrator and educator based in Pasadena, California. She recently completed the Science Illustration program at Cal State University Monterey Bay. Her earliest love was teaching. Upon completion of a biology degree from UC Berkeley, Andrea taught biology and environmental science to talented LA teenagers. Along the way, she earned a master’s degree in education from Whittier College.

Transmitting my awe for nature and love of science, I enjoy the process of learning, observing and creating. I am interested in projects that bring context and clarity to challenging ideas and highlight the natural world's beauty and complexity. In this way, I strive to strengthen the public's relationship with plants, insects, rocks, larger systems of climate and ecology and, of course, the human body.
